Dr. Cathy Lockard will be providing nutritional services for all our Montana customers! Dr. Cathy Lockard completed her PhD in Animal Science with an emphasis in Livestock Nutrition and Animal Metabolism in the summer of 2018 from Oklahoma State University. During her graduate career, she had extensive experience with research, animal metabolism, statistics, and macro and micro mineral nutrition and metabolism. She has worked for USDA-ARS as a Research Scientist in Bushland Texas; focusing on methods to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions from production livestock. Her thesis and dissertation were focused on body temperature and mitigating heat stress in livestock and using growth promoting technologies to improve livestock performance.
Throughout her research career, she has managed over 30 research projects for all species and has authored over 15 journal publications. Dr. Cathy Lockard has joined the Great Falls team and is available to help formulate unique rations based on the needs and ingredients readily available for your operation.
She is available for on-farm visits to discuss any animal or nutritional issues, proper on-farm mixing, and ingredient and diet sampling for nutrient analyses.
